Our serrano ham is a dry cured, aged ham with an aromatic sweet flavour and a tender creamy texture. Serve with a salad of rocket leaves, torn basil, chopped Roma tomatoes, orange segments, black olives and Woolworths balsamic vinaigrette, or with crusty Italian rolls or Italian breadsticks. Authentic product from Spain Food for thought Serrano literally means "from the mountains" and describes the cool mountain air that assists in curing this prized Spanish ham whose provenance is protected by law. Made from a particular breed of pig, the hams are hand-rubbed with coarse sea salt and matured in the fresh mountain air for 7 months. It is intensely aromatic and full flavoured.
